I founded Inspire to address the significant access barriers to quality psychiatric care in New York City.

By accepting insurance, offering rapid appointment availability, and building a team of skilled nurse practitioners, we provide top-level psychiatric medication management to people who might otherwise wait months or be unable to afford care.

As a board-certified psychiatrist and the Medical Director of Inspire Mental Health Services, I bring over 20 years of clinical experience and dual expertise in psychiatric medication management and psychotherapy. This combination allows me to treat both the biological and psychological aspects of mental health.

I graduated from Weill Cornell University Medical College and completed my psychiatry residency at Weill Cornell’s Payne Whitney Clinic. I then pursued six years of advanced training at the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research, one of the most rigorous psychoanalytic programs in the country. This training deepened my ability to understand the unconscious patterns and life stories that shape how people experience and cope with mental illness.

My approach integrates evidence-based medication management with attention to the broader context of your life, including sleep, nutrition, exercise, stress management and social connection. I believe strongly in patient autonomy and shared decision-making and always ensure that the treatment plans I recommend align with your values and circumstances.

In addition to my clinical work, I serve on the faculty of the Department of Psychiatry at both New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell and Columbia Presbyterian Hospitals, where I teach and supervise medical students and psychiatry residents.
