After years working as a family nurse practitioner treating patients from pediatrics right through  to geriatrics, I started noticing a pattern. Patients would come in with pain, physical symptoms, or complex medical issues, but when we really talked, the root cause was almost always connected to their mental health. That realization changed the entire direction of my career.

I’m Britney, and I’m dual-certified as both a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and a family nurse practitioner.

That combination isn’ t very common, but it should be, because our mental and physical health are completely intertwined.

I work with patients aged 12 and have a particular interest in working with the elderly. I help people with anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, trauma and stress-related disorders. Patients tell me they feel comfortable sharing their deepest emotions and that they feel genuinely heard without judgment. They describe the space I create as warm and safe, somewhere they can really open up. That matters to me because I believe mental health care should feel empowering, not intimidating.

My approach is collaborative and evidence-based. I listen deeply because that’s how real connection happens, and I help guide you toward understanding and insight rather than just telling you what to do. We figure out together what works for your life, your goals and your circumstances.

I live by the idea that relentless preparation leads to reflected performance. That philosophy shows up in how I practice too – I prepare thoroughly for each patient because I believe you deserve someone who’s done the work to show up fully for you. But preparation isn’t just about clinical skills. It also means creating the kind of environment where real healing can happen because you feel safe enough to be honest about what you’re going through.

Taking the first step in your mental health journey might feel uncomfortable but it’s also the beginning of real growth. You don’t have to have everything figured out before walking through the door. That’s exactly what we’ll work on together.
