Twenty-five years in this field has taught me something that no textbook ever could: the diagnosis is never the whole story.

Behind every label of depression, anxiety, PTSD or ADHD, there’s a person with their own worldview, their own struggles and their own hopes for what life could look like. That person is who I’m most interested in getting to know.

I’m Michelle, a Columbia-trained, ANCC board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and I’ve spent over two decades working with children, teens and adults across a wide range of clinical settings in New York and Arizona. I’ve worked with people facing serious mental illness, substance use challenges, complex medical conditions, trauma and just about every other psychiatric diagnosis you can think of. And what I’ve learned is that effective treatment isn’t about fitting someone into a protocol – it’s about understanding who they are and what they need.

I see the clinical relationship as a collaborative partnership. That means you’re not just showing up to be told what to do. Instead you’re being truly heard and together we figure out what will work for your life. My approach combines therapy and medication management because I believe in treating the whole person, not just prescribing pills and sending you on your way. Sometimes medication is part of the solution. Sometimes it’s not. We figure that out together based on your needs, your goals and what makes sense for you.

My background is broad by design. I’ve worked in settings ranging from community mental health to administrative roles where I developed training programs for new nurse practitioners and provided clinical supervision for NPs, social workers, and psychiatrists. Teaching the next generation of providers has kept me sharp and reminded me why this work matters – because everyone deserves to be treated with respect, expertise, and genuine care.

I work with children ages 5 and up, teens and adults of all ages. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, substance use challenges or navigating multiple diagnoses at once, I’m here to help you make sense of it all and find a path forward that feels manageable. Appointments can be in-person or remote, whatever you are most comfortable with.

After 25 years, I can tell you with certainty that the clients who do best are the ones who feel like partners in their own care. That’s what I’m here to offer you – a space where your voice matters, your needs are addressed and treatment takes all facets of your life into consideration.
